So, most of you know that we use disposable diapers with both Big Boy and Sassy. They've been great with Big Boy and we have no intention of changing his diaper system as we are so close to potty training! Sassy, on the other hand, has extremely sensitive skin (like her mommy) and has had an on-again, off-again diaper rash for her entire life. After trying every diaper cream and every type of diaper, we've decided to give cloth diapers a try. I have EXTREME reservations about doing this, but I am willing to try anything to help my baby girl's bottom! My main reservations are the upfront cost and the huge amount of work they seem to require.
Enter: The Diaper Lab. Here in Boston, there is a store called The Diaper Lab that has a HUGE selection of cloth diapering systems. A wonderful program they offer is an Experiment to Own. The Experiment to Own Package Includes:
◦Your choice of 8 new diapers (from available colors, sizes, & brands)
◦Your choice of inserts (hemp or microfiber) for any pocket diapers
◦Your choice of 2 hemp doublers
◦1 Pail liner (if needed)
◦Samples of cloth diaper laundry detergent(s)
◦Coupon for $15 off any purchase over $75 when you return your program
All of this for a rental fee of $35 for 2 weeks! We get to use all of this and if we decide we don't want any of it, we're only out $35. If we decide we like certain pieces, then we keep and pay for what we want, and we return what we don't want. The returned diapers are then put into a Gently Used section in the store for a discounted price.
I'm going to chronicle my experince to let y'all know what I really think about the whole system!
My next post will include the diapers that we chose (with the expert help of their associates)!
